Why SparkMTG exists
Keeping up with Magic: The Gathering has become a part-time job. Spoilers break on one site, the banlist drops on another, the finance spikes show up somewhere else entirely, and the lore lives in a podcast you haven't had time to play. Most players don't want 26 browser tabs — they want to know what actually happened and what it means.
That's the whole idea behind SparkMTG. Every week we monitor the sources serious players already trust, cut everything that doesn't matter, and deliver what's left as one email you can read in about four minutes. No filler, no doomscroll, no FOMO — just the signal.
How we put each issue together
SparkMTG is a curated digest with a point of view. Each week we track set previews and spoilers, competitive results, Banned & Restricted news, Commander deck tech, and card-market movement across a wide range of established Magic outlets. We don't just relay headlines — we summarize what happened, add context, and tell you why it matters for your games and your collection. Where we reference another outlet's reporting, we credit and link it.
Who's behind it

EDITOR & FOUNDER
ShinyManaGank is the editor of SparkMTG — a longtime Magic: The Gathering player who started the newsletter to scratch a personal itch: a single, trustworthy weekly recap of the game.
In my free time I love to spend it with my two dogs, running, my partner, exploring the Witch City, traveling, playing Magic, and spending way too much time with technology. The photo of me is actually after a short 5k, a week after a half marathon. I also like to play other games, such as League of Legends and Pokemon, ShinyManaGank is a combination of at least 3 games, can you guess them?
