There are four Darkhold Destiny Commander decks: Strange Academy, Gods of Asgard, Midnight Sons and Lords of Hel. All four release April 9, 2027 with Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny. Each deck has 100 cards, 30 of them new to Magic, plus 10 double-sided tokens and two foil commanders. Amazon US lists each deck at $74.99 for preorder. Wizards has not revealed any commander card or decklist yet, so this page covers what is confirmed: colors, themes, the characters on the box, prices and the surge foil Collector's Edition. They are the next Marvel Commander decks after the four 2026 Marvel Super Heroes precons.
Last checked October 18, 2026. Deck names, colors and themes come from the product packaging and retailer listings. Anything Wizards has not shown is marked as reported. Each deck has its own guide, linked below, and those become full upgrade guides once decklists are out.

Strange Academy (Esper, Doctor Strange on the box)
Strange Academy is white, blue and black (Esper). The packaging lists Spellcasters and Blink. Blink means exiling your own creatures and bringing them straight back to reuse their enter-the-battlefield effects, a long-running white and blue Commander plan. Wargamer adds that the deck leans on portal and dimension magic.
Gods of Asgard (Naya, Thor on the box)
Gods of Asgard is red, green and white (Naya). The packaging lists Power Matters and Godlike Gear. The product blurb quoted by Wargamer tells you to build up creatures with power 4 or more, and Godlike Gear points to Equipment, which fits Thor and Mjolnir. This is the big-creature, combat-first deck of the four.
Midnight Sons (Orzhov, Blade on the box)
Midnight Sons is white and black (Orzhov). The packaging lists Gain Life and Vampires. NerdSnack reads that as gaining life and then spending it, a plan white and black Vampire decks have run in Commander for years. It is the only two-color deck of the four.
Lords of Hel (Rakdos, Hela on the box)
Lords of Hel is black and red (Rakdos). The packaging lists Generate Tokens and Sacrifice, with waves of undead tokens. Make bodies, sacrifice them for value, and drain the table. Several black and red cards already spoiled from the main set make tokens or reward sacrificing.

The Collector's Edition (surge foil)
Every Darkhold Destiny Commander deck has a Collector's Edition with surge foil cards (ICv2, ComicsBeat). NerdSnack and Draftsim report that all 100 cards are surge foil and the contents otherwise match the regular deck.
Amazon US sells the four Collector's Edition decks only as a set, for $639.96, and its listing says all 100 cards in each deck are surge foil. There is no single-deck Collector's Edition listing and no official MSRP yet. For comparison, Draftsim notes the 2026 Marvel Super Heroes Collector's decks had a $160 MSRP. If you want only one deck in surge foil, wait for a per-deck listing.
Which Darkhold Destiny precon should you buy?
Nobody can rank the Darkhold Destiny precons yet, because no decklist or commander is out. What you can do now is match the themes on the box to how you like to play:
You like casting spells and reusing creatures that do something when they enter: Strange Academy.
You want big creatures, Equipment and winning in combat: Gods of Asgard.
You like gaining life and spending it, or want two colors instead of three: Midnight Sons.
You like going wide with tokens, sacrificing them and draining the table: Lords of Hel.
If you can wait, wait for the decklists before you pick. We will update this page and each deck guide when they drop.
