Klingon Fury is the Mardu (red, white, black) deck in Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek, and it is the aggro deck of the four. Headed by Worf, Defiant Commander, the face commander Wizards named on October 20, it wants to attack early, go wide, and hit the whole battlefield, with a disruption streak that strips opposing artifacts and enchantments. Honor through combat, basically.

Like most aggro precons, it needs help to close games against grindier tables. The upgrade job is to add token engines, combat payoffs, and efficient hate that makes your attacks land.

Heads up: Wizards revealed these decks in the July 14 first look and named the face commanders on October 20. Worf, Defiant Commander leads this deck. Full decklists are not out yet (as of October 21, 2026). Wizards previews Klingon Fury on October 28, and we will update this guide when the list is revealed. The upgrades below are existing Magic cards that fit the deck's announced colors and theme, ready to slot in when you get the deck. The set releases November 13, but Wizards says North American Commander decks may arrive after that date, so check with your store. Prices checked October 11, 2026.

How does Klingon Fury want to play?

Klingon Fury is the Mardu (red, white, black) Star Trek Commander precon, with Worf, Defiant Commander as its face commander, at $74.99 MSRP, and it is the aggro deck of the four. The set releases November 13, 2026, though North American Commander decks may arrive later (Wizards, October 16). Five budget upgrades (Impact Tremors, Mardu Ascendancy, Dragon Fodder, Reconnaissance and Bastion of Remembrance) cost about $8 combined. Anointed Procession (about $61) is the high-end add, and Cathars' Crusade has dropped to about $5.

Worf and the Klingons want bodies on the board and damage on the table. Worf's battlefront ability, a Commander-only ability word, counts the opponents you attacked this turn and exiles that many cards from the top of your library whenever you attack, and you may play them until the end of your next turn, so swinging at every opponent is the deck's card engine. The best upgrades multiply your attackers, reward you for going wide, and remove the blockers and lock pieces that slow aggro down. Mardu also has premium removal, so a couple of clean answers keep your offense rolling.

Stock or upgrade?

Verdict on decklist day. We won't call it until we can see all 100 cards; we'll update this the day Wizards posts the list.

Lands to fix first

Full decklists aren't out yet (as of October 12, 2026), so we have not seen Klingon Fury's lands. Recent three-color precons we have checked shipped with five to seven lands that always enter tapped: Doom Prevails and Avengers Assemble had five each, Forces of the Imperium six, and Tyranid Swarm seven. Expect a similar number here.

These cheap untapped lands cover Mardu (red, white, black), ready to swap in for whatever enters tapped. We'll update on decklist day with the exact cuts. Tapped lands hurt an aggro deck most, so this is the first fix for Klingon Fury.

That is about $1.64 for all five. Prices checked October 12, 2026, cheapest non-foil printing on Scryfall.

5 powerful upgrades

Best cards regardless of price. Prices checked October 11, 2026, using the cheapest non-foil printing on Scryfall. They shift over time, so use these as rough guides.

Cathars' Crusade (around $5). Every creature you make puts +1/+1 counters on your whole team. In a go-wide deck it snowballs into lethal fast.

Anointed Procession (around $61). Doubles every token you make, turning a decent board into an overwhelming one.

Smothering Tithe (around $56). Ramp and fixing so your three-color aggro curve never stumbles.

Iroas, God of Victory (around $10). Makes your attackers nearly unblockable and can not be killed. A perfect aggro anthem.

Vandalblast (around $2). One-sided artifact removal that matches Worf's disruption theme and wrecks a rival's mana rocks or engine.

5 budget upgrades under $5

All under $5 per copy, checked October 11, 2026.

Impact Tremors (around $3). Pings each opponent whenever a creature enters, turning a wide board into guaranteed reach.

Mardu Ascendancy (under $1). Makes a token for each attacker and protects your team from a board wipe for a turn.

Dragon Fodder (under $1). Two bodies for two mana, cheap fuel for every go-wide payoff in the deck.

Reconnaissance (around $4). Lets you attack freely and pull creatures back before damage, a brutal combat trick for aggro.

Bastion of Remembrance (under $1). Drains the table whenever your creatures die, giving your aggro a backup win when the board stalls.

The Collector's Edition

Worf leading a Klingon warband is the set's most aggressive display piece. Every one of the four Star Trek Commander decks, Klingon Fury included, also comes in a Collector's Edition. Per Wizards' July 14, 2026 announcement, the standard Commander deck is $74.99 MSRP and the Collector's Edition is $159.99 MSRP. The Collector's Edition has the same cards, all in surge foil, with a borderless face commander. If you want the fully foil version of your captain and crew on the table, that is the box to preorder. Store prices can differ from MSRP.

Bottom line

Klingon Fury is the deck that wants to end games early, and a few targeted swaps get it there. Add token doublers, combat anthems, and cheap reach. The five budget picks above cost about $8 combined, and Cathars' Crusade plus Anointed Procession are the power cards that turn a decent aggro board into a lethal one. Frequently asked questions

What colors is Klingon Fury?

Mardu: red, white and black. Worf, Defiant Commander is the face commander (named by Wizards on October 20, 2026), and the deck is an aggressive, go-wide Klingons build that attacks early and hits the whole battlefield, with a disruption sub-theme that strips opposing artifacts and enchantments. It is the fastest of the four Star Trek precons.

Does the Klingon Fury precon need upgrades?

Like most aggro precons, yes. It swings hard but stalls out against grindier tables. It wants token engines to multiply attackers, combat anthems so those attacks connect, and cheap reach so a stalled board still loses. A couple of clean Mardu removal spells keep the offense rolling.

When does the Star Trek Klingon Fury deck release?

The Star Trek set releases November 13, 2026, but Wizards says North American Commander decks, including Klingon Fury, are delayed and may arrive after November 13, so check with your local game store. The deck is $74.99 MSRP, and a Collector's Edition ($159.99 MSRP) has the same cards, all in surge foil, and a borderless face commander. Wizards revealed the deck at the July 14, 2026 first look and previews it on October 28.

What are the best budget upgrades for Klingon Fury?

Impact Tremors (about $3) pings each opponent whenever a creature enters, turning a wide board into guaranteed reach. Mardu Ascendancy (under $1) makes a token per attacker and shields the team from one wipe. Dragon Fodder, Reconnaissance and Bastion of Remembrance finish the set for about $8 combined (prices checked October 11, 2026).
