Multiverse Reforged is the four-color (white, blue, black, red) Commander precon that released with Reality Fracture on October 2, 2026, priced at $49.99. Wizards published the full decklist on September 16, 2026: the commander is Jace, Multiverse Architect, and the deck is four-color creature swapping. This guide covers what the deck is, whether it is worth buying, the 5 best cards to add, 5 budget picks under $5, the $10 upgrade plan, and the stock 100 with the exact cards to cut. Updated October 7, 2026.

What is the Multiverse Reforged precon?

Multiverse Reforged is white, blue, black and red (no green), led by Jace, Multiverse Architect, a five-mana planeswalker that can be your commander, with Nissa, Leyline Tamer as the second featured legend. Jace's minus ability exiles one of your creatures and puts the next creature or planeswalker from your library onto the battlefield, and the deck is built around that swap: Mass Polymorph, Synthetic Destiny and Proteus Staff do the same trick, token makers (Secure the Wastes, Martial Coup, Lingering Souls) feed it, and big bodies like Archon of Cruelty, Darksteel Angel and Memnarch wait to be flipped. Its 16 new cards include a mono-white Ob Nixilis, a mono-black Avacyn and a colorless Omnath, in the same spirit as the set's color-shifted legends and Echoed Pairs. Plan for All Outcomes and Fatehold Charm bring the set's Empower Jace mechanic. We guessed four colors correctly; we could not know which four, or that the plan would be this swap-heavy.

Is Multiverse Reforged worth buying?

Yes, if you want the story deck or the four-color commander. The mana is better than we expected: 28 nonbasic lands, including Reflecting Pool and Command Tower, plus four two-color Signets and four Talismans. No, as a first deck: four colors and a random-reveal plan are hard to read, and the $30 decks teach the format better.

Stock or upgrade?

Playable stock, fix the lands first. The four-color mana is better than most precons, but several lands still come in tapped on the turns you most need to cast two spells.

Lands to fix first

Multiverse Reforged runs 39 lands with 28 nonbasics, and most of them are good: five pain lands, five check lands, Reflecting Pool and Command Tower. Three lands always enter tapped (Path of Ancestry, Restless Anchorage and Restless Spire), three Turbulent lands enter tapped until your opponents control eight lands, which covers most of the early game, and Contaminated Landscape, Perilous Landscape and Fabled Passage fetch basics that enter tapped.

Our cut list already removes Restless Anchorage, Restless Spire, Turbulent Crater and Kher Keep. These four swaps fix most of what is left.

  • Cut Turbulent Shore → add Adarkar Wastes (about $0.34): an untapped white-blue pain land on turn one.

  • Cut Turbulent Wetlands → add Shipwreck Marsh (about $1.30): blue-black, untapped from turn three on.

  • Cut Perilous Landscape → add Dragonskull Summit (about $0.45): black-red, untapped whenever you already control a Swamp or a Mountain.

  • Cut Contaminated Landscape → add Shattered Sanctum (about $1.58): white-black, untapped from turn three on.

  • Already in our cut list: Restless Anchorage, Restless Spire, Turbulent Crater and Kher Keep.

That is about $3.67 for all four, and every swap keeps the land count the same. Prices checked October 12, 2026, cheapest non-foil printing on Scryfall.

Jace, Multiverse Architect made a Duel Commander top four, and Multiverse Reforged ships with one infinite combo

Jace, Multiverse Architect finished in the top four of a 59-player Duel Commander tournament and went 5-0 in a Duel Commander League, MTG Rocks reported on October 7, 2026. Both lists close games with the swap this precon is built on: a token goes in, and Jace's -3 or Polymorph turns it into the best card in the library. Duel Commander is one-on-one and those lists were built from scratch, so the result says more about the commander than about the stock 100.

The stock 100 does hold one three-card infinite combo, listed on Commander Spellbook: Brainstorm, Dack Fayden, Helping Hand and Venser, Fervent Forger. Brainstorm puts Venser on top of the library, Dack Fayden reveals it and hands it to an opponent, and Venser's trigger makes two token copies of Venser, each of which makes two more. The spare triggers copy any other permanent an opponent controls, with haste. It needs three specific cards and seven mana, so it will not come up often.

Draftsim wrote on October 7 that there is "an infinite combo in the deck right out of the box" while describing a different loop: Aminatou, the Fateshifter, Oath of Teferi and Spark Double. That loop works. Spark Double enters as a nonlegendary copy of Aminatou, the two flicker each other with their -1 abilities, each returns with fresh loyalty, and Oath of Teferi gives each a second activation to flicker a third permanent. If you aim the spare flicker at a land, the loop makes infinite mana. If you aim it at Archon of Cruelty, which is in the box, each pass costs an opponent 3 life. None of the three combo cards is in the Multiverse Reforged decklist, so that loop is an upgrade and not a feature of the box.

5 best cards to add to Multiverse Reforged

Five of our ten original picks were already in the box (Reflecting Pool, Chromatic Lantern, Fellwar Stone, Exotic Orchard, Path of Ancestry), and Cascading Cataracts no longer made the cut against cheaper fixing. Those six were replaced. None of the five below is in the stock list, and each one replaces a specific card named in the cut list further down. Prices are the cheapest printing on Scryfall as of October 7, 2026.

  1. Mana Confluence (about $35): any color, every turn, for one life. Replaces Restless Anchorage.

  2. City of Brass (about $13): any color, untapped, for one damage. Replaces Turbulent Crater.

  3. Chromatic Orrery (about $32): seven mana you can spend as any color, and it draws a card per color you control. Replaces Staff of the Storyteller.

  4. Rhystic Study (about $60): a card every time an opponent will not pay one, and the deck plays enough blue to cast it early. Replaces Brainsurge.

  5. Smothering Tithe (about $56): a Treasure of any color whenever an opponent draws and will not pay two. Replaces Currency Converter.

5 budget upgrades under $5 for Multiverse Reforged

Every card here costs under $5 for its cheapest printing as of October 7, 2026. The five together run about $2.62.

  1. Indomitable Creativity (about $0.43): destroy X of your own tokens and put that many creatures from your library onto the battlefield. Replaces Skrelv's Hive.

  2. Polymorph (about $1.32): four mana to turn a Spirit or Soldier token into the next creature in your library. Replaces Dreadhorde Invasion.

  3. Hour of Need (about $0.11): exile your tokens for 4/4 flying Sphinxes (strive adds {1}{U} per extra target), and The Ur-Sphinx rewards every Sphinx attack. Replaces Occult Epiphany.

  4. Talisman of Hierarchy (about $0.42): covers white and black, one of the two color pairs the deck's Signets and Talismans miss. Replaces Kher Keep.

  5. Talisman of Conviction (about $0.34): covers red and white, the other missing pair. Replaces Restless Spire.

How to upgrade Multiverse Reforged for $10

Start with the Precon Upgrade Playbook: fifteen colorless cards, six cut rules, and a ten dollar mana base that work on every precon ever printed. Then make the five budget swaps above, about $2.62 in total. The exact cards to take out are in the decklist section below.

Multiverse Reforged's spiking cards are all outside the box, and the ten picks here barely moved

The ten picks in this guide are mana and card-draw staples, and none of them is caught up in the planeswalker run that followed Reality Fracture. On Scryfall's cheapest printing, the five budget picks went from about $2.54 together on September 25 to about $2.62 on October 7, 2026. Rhystic Study slipped from about $67 to about $60 over the same twelve days, and City of Brass rose from about $11 to about $13. No pick needs replacing.

The box holds the cards causing the spikes, and none of the cards that spiked. Jace, Multiverse Architect ($1.07 on Scryfall on October 7), The Ur-Sphinx ($1.09) and Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel ($4.41) all come in the 100, and EDHREC reported on October 6 that Niv-Mizzet already leads more than three thousand decks of its own. The 89 non-basic cards add up to about $87 at Scryfall's cheapest printings against a $49.99 price, led by Avacyn, Angel of Horror at $16.13 and Flawless Maneuver at $9.66. If you want those commanders, the sealed deck is still the cheap way in.

The upgrades are where the money went. Each card below is absent from the official decklist.

  • Aminatou, the Fateshifter: MTG Rocks tracked the Commander 2018 printing from $3.08 on September 10 to $22.19 shipped for the cheapest near-mint copy on October 3, with 87 near-mint copies sold in that stretch against 12 in the month before. Scryfall's cheapest nonfoil on October 7 is $13.81, the reprint from The List.

  • Oath of Teferi: MTG Rocks had near-mint Dominaria copies at about $0.80 in early September and $3.16 on October 1. Wargamer, reading MTGGoldfish's price tracker, had the card at $0.90 at the start of September and $8 on October 7. Scryfall lists the Dominaria printing at $7.02 on October 7.

  • Spark Double: no outlet has reported a move. Scryfall's cheapest printing on October 7 is $5.05, from Marvel Super Heroes Commander.

  • Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God: Draftsim put the War of the Spark printing at about $5 in the last week of September and at $14 to $16 on October 2. Scryfall's cheapest English printing on October 7 is the promo pack version at $7.34.

  • The Chain Veil: MTG Rocks had the Commander Masters printing at about $5 on average before the run and closer to $8 on September 29, and MTGGoldfish had it at around $10 on October 5. Scryfall's cheapest printing on October 7 is The List at $7.78.

  • Onakke Oathkeeper: MTG Rocks had it at $1.17 at the start of July and $5.24 shipped on September 28, and MTGGoldfish had it at $19 on October 5. Scryfall lists the nonfoil at $13.99 on October 7.

  • Vronos, Masked Inquisitor: MTG Rocks reported the cheapest near-mint copy at $9.99 on October 7, up from a $2.98 low in August, after 297 copies sold in a single TCGplayer order on October 5. MTG Rocks says the spike "appears to be artificial". Scryfall's figure on October 7 is $4.87.

Aminatou and Oath of Teferi are the two that work with Jace directly. Aminatou puts a card back on top of the library for the -3 and flickers Jace back to full loyalty, and Oath of Teferi lets Jace activate twice a turn. The Chain Veil, Onakke Oathkeeper and Vronos are superfriends cards, and the stock list runs two planeswalkers, Jace and Elspeth, Sun's Champion. Wargamer makes the same point about Oath of Teferi in a deck with only a couple of planeswalkers. Treat every figure above as a snapshot: MTG Rocks expects spikes driven by precon commanders to level out, and Star Trek is the next set to pull attention away.

What is in the Multiverse Reforged decklist?

Wizards published the full 100 on September 16, 2026 (official decklist). The commander is Jace, Multiverse Architect. Cards in bold are the ten our upgrade cuts.

Multiverse Reforged FAQ

What is the Multiverse Reforged precon?

Multiverse Reforged is the four-color (white, blue, black, red) Commander precon at the top of the Reality Fracture line, priced $49.99 and released on October 2, 2026. It is four-color creature swapping, led by Jace, Multiverse Architect.

Which four colors is Multiverse Reforged?

White, blue, black and red, with no green. The commander is Jace, Multiverse Architect, a planeswalker that can be your commander, and Nissa, Leyline Tamer is the second featured legend in the same four colors. Wizards published the full decklist on September 16, 2026.

Why is Multiverse Reforged $49.99 instead of $30?

It is the premium set-story deck, not part of the $30 Foundations Commander Deck line. Four-color precons are rare and tend to be the collectible of their cycle.

What are the best cards to add to Multiverse Reforged?

What are the best budget upgrades for Multiverse Reforged?

Indomitable Creativity, Polymorph, Hour of Need, Talisman of Hierarchy, Talisman of Conviction. All five cost under $5 for their cheapest printing as of October 7, 2026, about $2.62 together.

Does Multiverse Reforged have an infinite combo?

Yes, one. Commander Spellbook lists Brainstorm, Dack Fayden, Helping Hand and Venser, Fervent Forger, and all three are in the stock list. Brainstorm puts Venser on top of the library, Dack Fayden hands it to an opponent, and Venser then copies itself without end. The loop Draftsim described on October 7, 2026, with Aminatou, the Fateshifter, Oath of Teferi and Spark Double, also works, but none of those three cards is in the box.

What is the Jace, Multiverse Architect combo with Aminatou?

Aminatou, the Fateshifter, Spark Double and Oath of Teferi. Spark Double enters as a nonlegendary copy of Aminatou, the two flicker each other with their -1 abilities and return with fresh loyalty, and Oath of Teferi gives each a second activation for any other permanent, Jace included. The three cards cost about $26 at Scryfall's cheapest nonfoil printings on October 7, 2026: $13.81, $5.05 and $7.02.
